What the sample can show
The owner-authorised NIKA GRAN physical sample shows a grey granular field with contrasting mineral inclusions. This describes that sample, not a guarantee of one pattern across a natural body. Perception also changes with screen white balance, surface moisture and image scale. The NIKA GRAN stone range uses photographs for orientation, not as digital certificates for a batch.
What sources confirm — and what they do not
Official and academic documents may confirm a geological object, a material name or research context. They do not prove that a particular stock block comes from the described site, do not show that NIKA GRAN owns a quarry and do not replace shipment documents. The guide to Ukrainian granite deposits explains this boundary in more detail.
How finish changes appearance
A polished face increases contrast and reflection; a honed face appears quieter; a thermal or relief finish scatters light and may appear paler. These are visual observations rather than numerical technical properties. Make the final choice from matching samples of the same batch in different finishes.
| Approval stage | Check | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Material name | spelling and source reference | that a name guarantees one colour |
| Physical sample | pattern, grain and tone range | that a screen image equals the stone |
| Finish | polished, honed, thermal or relief | that all finishes look identical |
| Batch | available volume and permitted variation | that a previous batch will repeat |
| Layout | pattern direction and mixing of units | that the installer will set the criterion |
Possible applications
After sample approval, the material may be considered for sawn paving, split setts, paving slabs, cladding plates or granite slabs. This list does not claim that every format is available from a particular batch. Format, thickness, finish and tolerances belong in the specification.
Current-batch approval protocol
Request photographs of several blocks or plates in neutral light, then approve a physical sample. For a large area, define the permitted variation and the method for mixing units. Keep the reference sample and request number after production starts. Repeat approval if the batch or finish changes. The Didkovychi stone page shows the range relationship but does not replace this protocol.
How to record the sample decision
Add the reference-sample photograph, approval date, finish name and a short description of permitted variation to the specification. Where an order combines several product types, compare setts, slabs, kerbs or cladding under the same lighting. Do not use a marketing photograph as the sole acceptance criterion. If production is spread over time, ask whether later units belong to the same batch. This record does not create laboratory properties, but it makes visual approval clear to the customer, production team and installer.
Frequently asked questions
Will the whole batch look exactly like the hero image?
No. The hero shows one physical or research sample. The actual sale batch requires separate approval.
Can technical properties be inferred from colour?
No. Colour and pattern do not replace test reports, a product passport or design requirements.
Does the material name guarantee a particular quarry?
No. Shipment origin is confirmed by accompanying documents; this article is not chain of custody.
Read the granite, gabbro and labradorite comparison or send sample requirements.
