Granite entrance groups

Granite entrance groups are produced as one set: steps, landings, columns, plinths and entrance cladding cut from the same material. The entrance reads as a single ensemble instead of a mix of unrelated surfaces. One listing covers several types of piece, so every order is set out in detail.

For this product the available granites are Pokostivske, Leznykivske, Didkovychi and Maslavske, and any other stone is ordered separately: a calm grey base, an expressive red-pink range, warm brown-pink tones and a restrained olive-green shade each give the entrance group a different character. Stone, format and finish are chosen together, because the combination decides how the stone looks on steps, a plinth or cladding.

Natural stone differs from batch to batch, so for a particular entrance group a physical sample, the chosen format and the required finish are approved. The sample is approved in the finish the piece will have in production.

The surface can be polished, honed, flamed or rock-face. Polishing brings out gloss, honing leaves a matte look, flaming alters the character of the surface, and rock-face adds relief. The finish affects how the surface behaves in place, so it is settled in advance. It is used for steps and entrances, façades and plinths; in the category it also serves landscaping, urban spaces and interiors.

Format and finish follow the task, so the specification marks the visible faces and the places where an anti-slip or another finish is needed.

The stone, the finish and the packaging are settled in the specification before production starts. To prepare it, send an entrance plan with the dimensions of steps, landings, columns and plinths, plus the cladding area; attach a drawing or sketch if you have one. The document states the length, width and thickness, along with the format, tolerances and weight.

An entrance group has several parts, so the list of pieces is agreed in stages: the main elements first, then the cladding and junction details. We then check drawings against the list, settle discrepancies and prepare the final document. Manufacturing begins only after the order is fully approved.
